WOW And I'm Back

I took a very long hiatus, and I'm not going to lie, I did not draw very much at all during it.

I SUCK

But now I'm back, because that last couple weeks was justifiable kinda.

Here is the ADORABLE Swedish pop band Love is All. I LOVE THEM.

Doodled them during Media Criticism, and I guess they're sitting on the counter eating noodles.

Really quick, really crappy sketch today because I am TIRED and also suffering from art block.

Idk I was just drawing without thinking, I guess it's a sleeping dad and daughter on a boat? I guess immigrants haha. Maybe I'll clean it up someday.

Watched Master and Commander again tonight, and fell in love with the characters all over again!

Aubrey and Maturin, on a cliff with a crashing wave at dawn, facing some kind of confrontation. Aubrey faces it head on while Maturin seems morally conflicted by it. Oh how I love these two and their dynamic!

Still just working on commissions for the donation project!

I decided to photograph the finished piece since the scanner wasn't doing it for me.

It's still not great but oh well. That's why only Magi gets the real thing!

I'm a little sad it doesn't look more like Magi, but I think overall I'm very pleased with it c: I hope she likes it too!

This guy is an Arabic astronomer circa Ottoman era, who meets an untimely end :c Based on a true and hilarious story!

I'm thinking a cute little boy with a huge mouth. He's supposed to be about to touch a bug zapper, but I have no idea what a bug zapper looks like.

This is kind of shitty cause I'm way tired! Great night!

NEW PROJECT

So once a week, I decided, I will design a character. I pull out three random adjectives from a random adjective generator, then pick a random style to draw it in and tada.

So this week the style was Disney, and the adjectives I got were "Pretty, Popular, Placid" Frankly they were a little too cohesive (not to mention alliterative) but it was just the first week.

Since it was only the first week, I decided to go a little easy on myself and didn't do any movement sketches.

Penelope Poplar, Disney princess lady...who is pretty and popular and placid.

The lines were with marker, the coloring is digital.

And also bad, the coloring is bad haha.

This one didn't turn out as well as I thought :C I doodled these babushka doll-people in lecture today using my FAB NEW PEN but somehow upon scanning they turned out super crappy. The color job was not super great either :/

OH WELL live and learn. They were fun to make.

Anyway, I got these amazing new markers today, so the lines of this are done via marker, and I colored it in Photoshop. I think the combo looks really nice.
